Authorised Inspections

At First Diesel Services, we are authorised to provide eSafety Checks for customers in our Jamisontown workshop. We ensure your vehicle passes the minimum safety requirements by running a thorough check on the components of your car, helping you get the eSafety tick of approval.

When your vehicle passes the eSafety check, First Diesel Services will electronically send the report to Transport for NSW.

What Is A eSafety Check?

All vehicles require regular safety inspections to remain roadworthy. For light vehicles over 5 years old, a yearly eSafety check (also known as a pink slip) is mandatory. Your car registration renewal notice will indicate when an inspection is due.

An eSafety check provides a detailed assessment of your vehicle’s condition. If your car doesn’t pass the roadworthy inspection, we will advise you on the necessary repairs and provide a quote to complete them.

The NSW eSafety Check involves testing various criteria points ‌your vehicle must pass to qualify for a roadworthy certificate, including:

  • Tyre quality and tread depth
  • Vehicle body condition
  • Working headlights, blinkers, interior lights, and dash lights
  • Engine/suspension/exhaust condition
  • Seatbelt condition
  • Engine and driveline fluid leaks
  • Brake efficiency test

Safety First

Failed A Safety Check?

If your vehicle fails a safety check, you need to make the repairs before renewing your registration. Complete the repairs within 14 days and return the car to be reassessed at our workshop for no extra inspection fees. If you repair the vehicle after the 14-day period ends, you must pay another inspection fee.
